When you think of Indian food, your mind may often jump to creamy curries or sizzling tandoori platters. But there’s a whole world of flavor hiding in the side dishes at the best restaurant in the Las Vegas strip— those underrated heroes that turn a good meal into a great one. If you’re exploring Indian cuisine for the first time or just craving something bold and satisfying, don’t skip the sides at Rutba Indian Kitchen for Indian food.
From buttery naan to vibrant chaats, Rutba’s menu is full of side items that go beyond expectations. These dishes may be smaller in portion, but they’re big in personality.
Warm Breads, Big Flavor
Start with the obvious — Indian breads. These aren’t just something to fill the basket; they’re essential tools for scooping up curry, layering flavor, or simply enjoying on their own.
Garlic Naan is a fan favorite, topped with freshly chopped garlic and cilantro, baked in the clay oven until it’s golden and aromatic. Chili Naan and Garlic Chili Naan offer that extra kick for spice lovers, while the Cheese Naan adds a rich, gooey twist with gently spiced paneer stuffed inside.
Want something more rustic? Try the Tandoori Roti, made from whole wheat and cooked in the traditional clay oven. It has that smoky, earthy taste that’s hard to beat.
Rice: The Ultimate Pairing
A lot of people underestimate what a bowl of well-cooked rice can do. At Rutba, rice isn’t an afterthought — it’s an experience. Their Basmati Rice is soft, long-grained, and aromatic, making it a perfect base for any rich entrée.
Looking for something more flavorful? Jeera Rice brings in the earthy aroma of cumin, while the Yellow Turmeric Rice adds a subtle spice kick and beautiful color to your plate. These options are not just filler; they’re designed to elevate the dishes they accompany.
Chaats That Steal the Show
Indian street food is famous for bold flavors and exciting textures, and chaats are where it all comes alive. Rutba’s Samosa Chaat is a brilliant mashup of crispy samosa pieces topped with spiced chickpeas, chutneys, and creamy yogurt. It’s tangy, spicy, crunchy, and soft—all in one bite.
Then there’s the Tikki Chaat, made from golden-fried potato and lentil patties served with chickpeas and layered with flavorful chutneys. And for a fun, hands-on treat, don’t miss the Panipuri—six crispy shells filled with tangy-spicy water and potatoes. It’s light, zesty, and incredibly satisfying on a warm Vegas day.
